Meet the Village
Directors
Adelina Sinanaj
Adelina Sinanaj is the President of One Village at a Time, Inc. Adelina, was raised by two Albanian immigrants and travels back to Kosovo and Montenegro every few summers. She has always felt a need to give back to the place that made her parents who they are today.
Adelina graduated with a Bachelor in Architectural Technology with a concentration in construction management from the New York Institute of Technology in May 2019. Her love for architecture and sustainability design was a way to give something back to the people with whom she spent her childhood summers. Her mission is to provide children living in these villages an environment to grow their knowledge and dream big beyond the village.
Donatea Zefi
Donatea Zefi is the Vice President of One Village at a Time, Inc. Donatea immigrated to America from Shkodër, Albania at the age of three and did not have the opportunity to travel back to her home country until the age of fourteen. During those years, Donatea never lost interest in all of the wonderful things her culture had to offer, as a result, her desire to return to her country and help those in need grew throughout the years.
Donatea holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from the City College of New York. She is passionate about STEM and the role that technology and education play in helping the world become a better place for all. As a child of parents who grew up in these villages, she understands the need and importance of accessible education.
Gentiana Dedushi
Gentiana Dedushi is the Treasurer of One Village at a Time, Inc. Gentiana migrated to the United States at the age of six as a war refugee during the Kosovo War in 1999 alongside her family. Although they left Kosovo, forgetting home was never an option for the Fetahu family—Gentiana visited her family at home every few summers.
As an adult, she felt it was time to give back to the people that have shaped her into the woman she is today—graduating from William Paterson University with her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and 4+ years of experience as an external auditor and analyst. She has high hopes that this foundation will provide both the support and positive environment that children need in order to thrive within their education, and one day make a difference in their community.
